White Lily Flower
Lily is a flowering plant, which belongs to the Lilium family and normally grows from bulbs. They are referred to as the Liliaceaes, and comprise of a genus of almost 110 species. Most of the species of this plant are perennial in nature and have an enlarged underground stem. From this stem, grow long and erect grass like leaves. Some species are woody and some are also trees of small stature.
The white Lily is a symbolic flower in Christianity and is suggestive of purity and virginity. The lily associated with the virgins is known as the Madonna Lily. Many a literary texts and authors draw allusions to this mystic flower.
